• My New Year’s Resolutions

One part of my soul believes that New Year’s Resolutions are a silly attempt in trying to better yourself for the first few months and then failing miserably for the rest of the year. However, another part of me simply loves the new year. I always get that fresh start feeling as the calendar hits 1st January of a brand new leaf. I think January is one of my feel good months. I’m always brimming with new ideas, new content and increased motivation. As the new year kicks in, I feel the need to reflect on the previous year and come up with ways on how I can live my life better and enjoy it to the fullest. This post might seem like a cliche to some of you but here are my top goals for 2017.

Be happy with everything you do. Being a blogger, a big chunk of my life goes on social media. This year I want to be completely and utterly happy with everything that I post online. I’ve decided that gone are the days that I post a picture because I feel that I have to. I want to post content that I’m entirely happy with and so proud of  that I want the whole world to see. 2017 is the year for taking matters into my own hands in my offline life too. I want every decision that I take to be my own. I want to feel confident in every little thing that I do.

Be healthier. Get stronger. 2016 was one of my best years with regard to fitness. I took health and fitness seriously and have stuck to a healthy exercise routine ever since. That being said, my sweet tooth did not go away as easily as my couch potato habits and I snack on more sweets and unhealthy things than I’d like to admit. Apart from sticking to my exercise routine, I want to improve my lifestyle and eat cleaner and healthier.

Connect with more people. If you know me well, this will come to no surprise to you. I’m a big fat introvert. I want to make an effort to get to know more people this year and connect with family and friends who I don’t see that often. 2016 was the year that I learnt that it’s so rewarding to enjoy the company of yourself, but at the end of the day, no man was every supposed to be an island.

Be a tourist everywhere you go. Being a social media freak, I am constantly on my phone checking my emails or scrolling through Instagram feeds. I really want to make an effort to put my phone down and absorb the beautiful life I have ahead of me. There are so many little details that will pass you by in the few minutes you’re looking down to check who liked your latest post.

Wear white tops before applying make-up. Here’s a funny one for you but it’s not so entertaining for my crisp white sweaters and shirts. I always end up with make-up on my white tops no matter how hard I try to squeeze my head smoothly. This year I’ll try and choose what I’m going to wear before I start my make-up. That way, if I’m going to wear white, I’ll be prepared!

I wish you all the best for 2017. Make it THE year for you!
