• Laser Hair Removal ft. Persona

I haven’t been posting regularly for ages but that’s about to change in the coming weeks. I have a lot of new content coming your way! In today’s post, I’m going to focus about my experience at Persona Med-Aesthetic Centre where I was invited to try out their laser hair removal service.

Persona has been offering a wide range of services since it opened its doors in Ta’ Xbiex in 2010. Their services include plastic surgery, dermatology services, laser hair removal, cellulite reduction, acne treatments, botox, hair transplantation, and so much more. In 2014, Persona set up a 2nd operating theatre which, in turn, opened up their list of services to a higher extent such as breast augmentation, tummy tucks, facelifts etc. The company guarantees the best technology and internationally trained medical specialists.  There are also a couple of bedrooms for patients to stay over-night after surgeries. The rooms are spacious, clean and hygienic…just what every patient requires.

Let’s get to the laser hair removal. My doctor was Dr. Corinne Woods and she was extremely helpful and very informative. I had never experienced any type of laser hair removal, so the consultation, that is done before the start of every laser hair removal, was highly needed. The consultation also includes a test patch. After this procedure was done, I decided to have my under-arms treated.

The equipment that this clinic uses is the Cynosure Elite Laser. This laser has an inbuilt air cooling jet to make the hair removal more comfortable. It actually has a refreshing effect and I did not feel any pain, just some light stinging! This was surprising to me as I always imagined that laser hair removal would hurt. The light energy from the laser is absorbed by the melanin pigment in the hair follicles and that is how the hair is destroyed. My under-arms turned slightly red after the hair removal which, I was informed, is perfectly normal. It should be noted that direct sunlight on the treated area is to be avoided and sunblock is a must!

I would definitely recommend Persona Med-Aesthetics Centre for your laser-hair removal! No pain required!

Take a look at their website for more info on their services.
